Richmond Hill Canoe Club is committed to providing a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all members, participants, volunteers, and visitors. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for behavior and establishes clear guidelines for maintaining a respectful community.

Expected Behaviors
All members and participants are expected to:
- Communicate respectfully and constructively with coaches, officials, and fellow paddlers
- Follow all club rules, safety procedures, and facility guidelines
- Arrive on time and prepared for programs and activities
- Take responsibility for personal equipment and club property
- Support teammates and demonstrate good sportsmanship
- Report concerns or incidents to club officials promptly
- Maintain confidentiality when appropriate
Prohibited Behaviors
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
- Harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind
- Physical, verbal, or emotional abuse
- Use of profane, insulting, or derogatory language
- Inappropriate physical contact
- Use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco on club premises or during club activities
- Destruction or misuse of club property
- Violation of privacy or sharing of personal information without consent
- Any behavior that creates an unsafe or hostile environment
Reporting and Enforcement
If you witness or experience a violation of this Code of Conduct:
- Report the incident to a coach, club official, or board member immediately
- All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly
- Confidentiality will be maintained to the extent possible
- Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern is strictly prohibited
Violations may result in disciplinary action including warnings, suspension, or termination of membership, depending on the severity of the offense.
